Making A Difference as a Senior Rehabilitation Officer in Visual Impairment Team
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to apply for this newly created post to support the Team Manager in managing St Helens Council Visual Impairment service.
The successful candidate will ideally have 2 years post qualification experience and be able to evidence good leadership skills, as the post includes a supervisory element.
Key roles will include:
1. Assessing new referrals and allocating to the team as appropriate
2. Have responsibility for undertaking assessment and maintaining a case load
3. Reviewing cases and closing as appropriate
4. Responsible for maintaining the register
5. Supervising the team
6. Attending meetings with appropriate agencies
7. Assist the Team Manager in developing the Visual Impairment service for St Helens residents
This is an exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to work alongside a dynamic and innovative team, promoting independence and maximizing quality of life for those who experience sight loss and visual impairment.
The role encompasses Low Vision Assessment at our clinic and community based assessments with people in their own homes in the community, including mobility training.
