Job title Environmental Officer Department Business Analysis Department Reports to Business Analyst Position summary: To support the delivery of the environmental sustainability action plan, by supporting the rollout of activities, auditing and reporting of data. Keeping up to date on environmental Climate change changes and support the Epson Telford on delivering the SEC 2050 vision. Main job functions: Reporting of environmental improvements, issues, concerns auditing the company processes via ISO standards and creating an action plan with department heads to improve. Supporting with CSR activities with local schools and community. Keeping the legal register up to date and review annual with the Senior management Team. Note: In addition to these functions, Employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required. Job location: Telford, Shropshire Duties/responsibilities Monitoring and reporting of Gas/Electricity and water meterage and records. Keep up to date with relevant changes in environmental legislation and initiatives. Support the review of the Climate change agreement and ensure the correct information is passed across. Reporting of data to our parent company (SEC), as and when required Review and update the Environmental policy as per SEC policy changes. Ensure projects are updated and communicated monthly s. Actively look for environmental projects from an energy improvement & cost down. Support of business improvement projects across site in line with the BA team. Conduct annual/biannual legal audits and update the legal register to ensure compliance against environmental legislations. Maintain Environmental Significance Aspects and impacts register Manage and audit the F-Gas register for legal compliance. Work closely with the Plant Maintenance team Support the Environmental accident/incident investigation Promotion of ETL with CSR activities wit local schools and the community Train and mentor internal auditors including assessments of audits, mentoring for improvement. Manage compliance to ISO standards 14001 by working with all departments to identify, and where necessary putting in place systems to assure long term compliance. Create, manage, and coordinate the ISO14001 audit calendar to assure requirements of ISO standards. Organise external noise assessments every 2 years. Managing the Environmental monthly Committee meetings ensuring attendance from all areas and actions are completed on time. Environmental induction to all new staff assuring awareness of EMS and assuring where appropriate staff are set up and skilled on document management system (Q-pulse) SEC audits - Pollution and Emissions are conducted within the timescales set by ETL. Working with the Environmental department ensuring waste management is legally compliant Support the creation of the Environmental Business Plan – ensure all projects are driven in line with SEC requirements Maintain Company policies and procedure, in relation to: Comply with the Health and Safety Policy and procedures in accordance with Health and Safety legislation. Working procedures for all operations within the Department. Compile with all compliance producers in accordance with J-Sox To authorise expenditure as necessary for efficient department operation. To promote and support internal activities, i.e., Small Group Activities, Suggestion Scheme etc. In line with company targets Comply with IT security policy; undertake working duties with ISM requirements i.e., use of appropriate controls for confidential information. Ensure Data protection (GDPR) is fully adhered to at all times To maintain 5S levels in line with showroom factory conditions. To undertake other duties as and when required within Epson. Qualifications Essential: • IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management – or equivalent Experience required Essential Knowledge of ISO audit standards and compliance items as well as industry standards/practices applied in a production/engineering environment. Previous experience in an environmental system management role High level of skills in Word, Excel and MS Project required.
