We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting students with a range of learning difficulties, ensuring that they have the necessary support to succeed and make progress. The Role: As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to support the delivery of high-quality learning experiences for students with SEN. You will work with small groups, 1:1 sessions, and support in the classroom to ensure the needs of all pupils are met. This role will require flexibility, initiative, and a passion for making a difference to the lives of children with additional learning needs. Key Responsibilities: Provide targeted support for students with Special Educational Needs, both in and outside of the classroom. Assist with the planning, preparation, and delivery of differentiated lessons and activities, ensuring they meet the needs of individual students. Deliver 1:1 or small group interventions to support specific areas of development (e.g., literacy, numeracy, social skills). Support students with emotional and behavioral needs, using strategies to encourage positive behavior and engagement. Help to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SENCo and teaching staff. Monitor and track students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as required. Foster an inclusive classroom environment where all students feel safe, valued, and supported. Encourage independence and self-confidence in students, promoting a growth mindset. Assist with the implementation of personal care plans, where necessary. Participate in regular team meetings and training to contribute to the school's development and your own professional growth. The Ideal Candidate: HLTA qualification (or equivalent) and experience working with children with Special Educational Needs. Experience of working in a primary school setting, preferably with children who have a range of SEN. A sound understanding of the barriers to learning that children with SEN may face, and strategies to support them. Knowledge of relevant intervention programs or strategies to support students with SEN (e.g., speech and language, social skills). Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. A patient, empathetic, and positive approach to supporting children. Ability to adapt and differentiate learning activities to meet the needs of individual students. Strong organizational skills and the ability to track and report on student progress.
