It is an exciting time to be joining the University of Hull’s Infrastructure Services as we look to align the developing academic strategy with significant investment in the Estate. Our recently approved Master plan will see an initial investment programme over the next five years, with further major investment up to 2032.
The Electrical Services team forms part of the Estates Operations and Compliance section, which also includes asbestos management, BMS, building services, mechanical services, grounds and gardens maintenance, legionella management, multi-skilled trades assistants, and the customer support services.
As part of the role you will be expected to conduct the following activities:
* Reactive/emergency work, small project works, and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) aligned with SFG20 maintenance task schedules.
* Carry out skilled tasks associated with the repair, maintenance, and/or installation of all plant, equipment, systems, and building structure/fabric associated with all University properties spanning all trades within agreed SLAs.
* Assist in the inspection of equipment and installations to inform compliance-based documentation and official records.
* Be expected to work across multi-functional trades’ teams to ensure all works are completed within priority timescales and undertake all training required within the service.
The Electrical Services team, supported by specialist contractors, is responsible for planned and reactive works on electrical installations and equipment throughout the University’s Estate incorporating a 24-hour provision, 365 days per year.
