Duties and Responsibilities As IT Assistant Manager, I will work closely with the Director of IT to ensure the efficient operation of the IT department and to provide exceptional products and services within brand operating standards. The duties and responsibilities will include: - Provide technical support for all hosts, ensuring minimal disruption to hotel operations. - Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for both front and back end systems. - Collaborate with other departments to support in-room technology, restaurant POS systems, and reservations software. - Assist in managing and maintaining the hotel's network infrastructure, including wi-fi networks for guests and hosts. - Oversee the routine maintenance and updating of hotel management systems, guest room control systems, and property management systems. - Ensure timely installation of software patches, updates, and security fixes on all IT infrastructure. - Coordinate with vendors to ensure all technology is updated and compliant with industry standards. - Monitor network performance and security to ensure seamless connectivity for guests and hotel operations. - Manage data backup systems to ensure date integrity is maintained. - Develop and assist in executing disaster recovery protocols to ensure business continuity. - Monitor and respond to cybersecurity threats, including maintaining firewalls and antirvirus software across all systems. - Manage all IT hardware and software assets. - Work in partnership with every department to ensure guest's needs are determined /met and oversee the overall smooth operation. - Instill a cost-focused philosophy through training and education. - Operate the property consistent with all legal, statutory and financial requirements and documentation, reporting systems, contractual obligations, security and safety protocols, communications, product and service standards, host management practices and budgetary controls are implemented, reviewed and maintained to ensure the successful operation of the hotel. Qualifications To execute the position of IT Assistant Manager, I must have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results and includes the following: - Possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or relevant field of expertise, and 2 years of systems experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. More than three years' experience in a similar hotel operational role preferred. - Fluent in English; I understand that additional languages are preferred. - Strong technical experience in IT infrastructure including network management, system administration and cybersecurity. - A good understanding of PMS systems and guest facing technologies along with data protection and compliance standards.
