We are currently recruiting for an LCMS Analyst within our Metabolism department at our Harrogate site, North Yorkshire.
We are looking for an Analyst to provide specialist analytical and mass spectrometry support. This is a key role providing quantitative characterization of components in a variety of matrices from early stage discovery studies.
About the Job
Within this position, your duties will include:
* The extraction and quantitative LC-MS/MS analysis of samples from a number of different study types using state of the art equipment (e.g. Sciex LC/MS and Hamilton Star Lab), to a non-regulatory standard.
* Basic development of methods and troubleshooting alongside other team members to provide solutions to issues as they arise.
* Working alongside other team members and clients to provide input into scientific reports.
* Effective communication of results and scientific rationale to both internal and external customers.
About You
To be successful in this position, you will typically be educated to a BSc/MSc in a relevant life science subject. Relevant experience may be substituted for academic qualifications.
Additionally, you will need to demonstrate:
* Good analytical chemistry skills, preferably with expertise in preparation and analysis of samples by LC-MS.
* Excellent extraction and pipetting experience.
* A good understanding of chromatographic techniques and method development of small molecules, with laboratory experience an advantage.
* High levels of motivation along with strategic thinking in this area.
* Strong client focus.
* Excellent communication and planning/organization skills.
* A flexible approach and willingness to support other colleagues in a busy environment.
* Familiarity with using Analyst and Watson software platforms also an advantage.
* Experience of working in a regulatory environment (GLP/GCP) an advantage.
