We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to work as part of the Audiology admin team in providing effective administrative, clerical, and typing support to the Clinical Audiology department. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in dealing with the public/customer care duties and be able to communicate effectively at all levels verbally and in writing. You will be IT literate, flexible, and enjoy working as part of a busy team.
Main duties of the job
* Provide a first line response service when managing enquiries from patients and professionals over the telephone or via email.
* Respond in a timely and accurate manner to requests for information and general enquiries either in person, by telephone, or by email.
* Record onto and maintain the Audiology patient management system and the hospital patient management system in relation to making and changing patient appointments and recording clinical activity.
* Undertake clear and timely assessment of the Audiology service's booking process, providing regular progress monitoring reports to the Head of Clinical Audiology and Audiology team.
* Ensure familiarity with the practices of other team members to assist in the event of absence, maintaining adequate secretarial and administrative cover within the specialty at all times.
* Prioritise workload and use innovative processes to ensure the smooth operation of the service.
* Work as part of the wider Clinical Audiology team in completing day-to-day tasks commensurate with the banding.
About us
The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and to Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The Trust works collaboratively within the wider Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership. Its services are provided from three locations:
* The Countess of Chester Hospital: providing 438 general and acute beds.
* Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 56 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate, and outpatient facility.
* Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: a base for community services which serve the local rural population.
The Trust employs over 6258 staff (headcount) which includes temporary bank staff and provides acute emergency and elective services, primary care direct access services, and obstetric services to a population of approximately 407,000. This includes 357,000 residents in Chester and West Cheshire, including Ellesmere Port and Neston, as well as the Deeside area of Flintshire which has a population of approximately 50,000.
The Trust is a busy district general hospital and in 2022/2023, there were more than 503,342 patient attendances (inpatient, outpatient, and diagnostic) ranging from a simple outpatient appointment to major cancer surgery. This is an increase of nearly 10,000 compared to the previous year when there were 494,387 patient attendances.

Qualifications
* NVQ Level 2 or 5 GCSE's including English and Maths or equivalent
* RSA I typing or ECDL Qualification
Knowledge and Experience
* Previous experience of dealing with the public/Customer Care duties
* Ability to complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner
* Ability to communicate effectively at all levels verbally and in writing
* Demonstrate proficiency in using databases, word, excel, and email
* Previous NHS experience
