Our client based in Basingstoke is looking to recruit a Production Technician to join their team on a Permanent basis. The ideal candidate for this role will be someone who enjoys working in a manufacturing environment and is willing to learn new skills and adapt to different areas of the business. You will need to have a good hands-on understanding of Electro Mechanical assemblies along with strong assembly capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. To assemble, test and calibrate electro-mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies in accordance with appropriate documentation achieving the required productivity and quality objectives including fault diagnosis and repair with no supervision.
2. To set-up and calibrate final products using automated and semi-automated electronic and thermal test equipment, ensuring that product test results are recorded in electronic format to enable the creation of product test calibration certificates.
3. To identify opportunities for process, productivity and quality improvements utilizing the Line Stop process or by highlighting issues to Supervision.
4. To report any defective equipment or any items out of calibration, unsafe or without a calibration sticker to Supervision.
5. To create/amend production documentation, e.g. Work Instructions/SOP's and publish in the company standard way.
6. Adherence to all health, safety, and environmental standards in accordance with procedures and processes reporting all health, safety, environmental issues and concerns.
7. To ensure that all relevant documentation is always completed accurately.
8. To participate in continuous improvement projects and activities.

Experience and Skills
1. Ability to work under a microscope and be competent with 'fine wiring' using 34AWG gauge wire essential.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience manufacturing small component assemblies essential.
3. IPC 610 Soldering certification essential.
4. Extremely dexterous and be used to working under a microscope in a small batch size production environment.
5. Experience of product test, configuration and calibration processes including creation of quality documentation and calibration certificates.
6. Experience with small component assembly essential.
7. Highly computer literate with applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
8. Ability to read drawings and Standard Operating Procedures to perform assembly tasks.
9. Good communicator and an effective member of a production team.
