Youth Worker – Full-Time Role Location: Levenshulme Contract: Full-time, starting after Easter until the end of the academic year Pay: £419.25 - £500 per week Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to join a Good Ofsted-rated secondary school in Levenshulme. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting young people’s well-being, personal development, and academic progress. It provides valuable experience for those interested in careers in education, social work, counselling, or youth engagement. The Role: As a Youth Worker, you will play a key role in supporting students who may face social, emotional, or behavioural challenges. You will work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies to provide targeted interventions, mentoring, and guidance to help students overcome barriers to their education. Key responsibilities include: Providing one-to-one mentoring and small-group support to students who may require additional emotional, social, or behavioural guidance. Supporting students in developing confidence, resilience, and positive decision-making skills. Assisting with behaviour management strategies and helping to create a structured, supportive learning environment. Acting as a trusted point of contact for students who may need support with personal or academic challenges. Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies to implement effective support plans for students. Helping to de-escalate situations where students may be experiencing distress or frustration. Encouraging students to engage positively with school life, their studies, and extracurricular activities. Supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) or those at risk of exclusion. Promoting safeguarding and well-being in line with school policies and procedures. The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for someone who: Has experience working with young people in a mentoring, youth work, or pastoral support capacity. Is empathetic, patient, and passionate about making a difference in students' lives. Has strong communication and relationship-building skills. Is confident in supporting students in both one-to-one and group settings. Can remain calm and proactive in challenging situations. Has knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies (training will be provided). Holds a relevant qualification in youth work, psychology, social work, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
