Stoke on Trent City Council is able to offer an exciting opportunity for someone to join the very friendly Regulation Team.
The work covered will be diverse, covering areas from Housing Disrepair, Licensing to Civil Litigation. The successful applicant will provide legal and procedural advice and support to the Council generally as well as to specific individuals or departments.
You will be required to both prosecute and defend civil actions within the court.
A good working knowledge of civil and criminal law would be advantageous.
While previous experience and knowledge in these areas are desirable, we would welcome applications from appropriately qualified and motivated individuals who are willing to learn. Training will be provided.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent presentation and organisational skills together with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines accurately and efficiently.
We are able to provide a generous leave package consisting of 28 days (plus Bank Holidays) upon joining the authority, which rises to 33 days (plus Bank Holidays) after 5 years of service.
You will work a 37-hour week but will have the opportunity of taking advantage of the Flexi scheme in operation alongside hybrid/remote working arrangements.
In addition to this, there is a generous pension scheme you would automatically join.
