The Opportunity
We’re bringing the best of Suntory to Oceania and building a best-in-class Sales team for our brand-new New Zealand-licensed function which will go live in 2026!
This is a once in a career opportunity for an Area Sales Manager to be a part of the pioneering licensed team that will drive the growth of Suntory Oceania. You will get to build your high performing team to support the delivery and growth of the Suntory Oceania licensed division.
This role is for the Lower North Island and South Island so we are flexible on location.
What you'll be doing:
1. Leadership: Manage and develop a team of high performing territory managers. This will include a minimum of 3 days per week spent in trade, coaching your team.
2. Field Execution: Ensure consistent execution of all metrics including: call compliance and coverage, distribution, display execution and NPD launches.
3. Business growth: Actively develop new business opportunities while continuing to grow the existing customer base.
4. Sales Strategies: Prepare and implement sales and marketing programmes such as promotional activity and new product launch strategies.
5. Compliance: Ensure your team are compliant with the Suntory standards.
What's in your toolkit?
1. Proven experience leading and developing a high performing field sales team ideally within the licensed or FMCG environments.
2. Gemba mindset – you will have a deep understanding of your customers' needs and the wider market to ensure we consistently remain competitive.
3. Hands-on leader – you will thrive spending time in trade coaching your team and pitching in when they need it.
4. Proven experience building a new customer base and fostering existing relationships.
5. Ability to build and leverage relationships both internally and externally.
6. You will be required to spend a lot of time in trade coaching your teams so you will be required to travel within your area.
