Job Description: Arborist Who You Are You are a skilled and knowledgeable arborist with experience working in tree surgery, particularly within public spaces. You possess relevant technical qualifications in arboriculture and demonstrate expertise in using and maintaining tree management equipment. You have a proven ability to interpret and apply industry legislation and health and safety standards and can work effectively both independently and as part of a team. What the Job Involves As an Arborist for Enfield Council's Highway Services, you will ensure that parks and open spaces across the Borough are attractive, safe, and welcoming. Your responsibilities will include supervising up to 5 staff, managing tree stocks and instructing arboricultural operations such as planting, pruning, and felling. You should expect to work in high-risk environments, handle emergency situations effectively, and maintain high standards of work quality. Additionally, you will be required to conduct ‘on the job’ training for Assistant Arborists and Apprentices and be available to provide emergency cover during extreme weather conditions. Skills Tree surgery and maintenance Chainsaw operation and maintenance (CS30.1, CS30.2, CS31, CS39) Aerial rescue operations (CS38) Full driving license with C1 / C1E / BE entitlement Knowledge of relevant legislation and safety codes Experience in high-risk work environments Strong communication and teamwork abilities First aid certification (desirable) Lantra/City & Guilds qualifications (desirable)
