National Specialty Advisor Children and Young People
The Children and Young People's Transformation Programme was established in 2019 to oversee the delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan commitments for children and young people (CYP).
More recently, the government set out its ambition to raise the healthiest generation of children in our history. To achieve this ambition, we need to make substantial changes to the services children use to improve children's health outcomes. The National Specialty Advisor will be vital to the successful delivery of NHS England's strategic priorities for CYP and will ensure new policies are clinically led.
We work particularly closely with the National Clinical Director for Children and Young People and the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.
The work of the programme is overseen by a Children and Young People Transformation Programme Board that brings together key partners across health, care, and education.
