Who: We have an exciting opportunity within the Comedy department for a Floating Assistant. As the dedicated Comedy Floating Assistant, you will work to support all offices within the department, providing holiday cover within Agent’s offices when necessary. This is a very busy department supporting Agents who work with award winning writer-performers, comedians, actors, producers and directors - as such, there is never a dull moment. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a fast-paced, creative environment, respect confidentiality at all times and possess the ability to remain calm when working under pressure. Attention to detail is crucial. Key responsibilities: Handle a high volume of emails and calls from clients and industry professionals e.g. producers, commissioners and casting directors. Attend client performances and comedy and theatre, screenings Organise meetings/auditions/client self-tapes. Ensure client CV’s and bios are up to date. Build client material and put together showreels. Client submissions via Spotlight and on email. Process contracts, issue invoices and keep track of payments. Script reading on behalf of and alongside Agents/clients. Diary management for the Agents and clients - which is often complicated in nature as often clients work across more than one discipline. Provide full administrative support to the department. Attend comedy previews and work in progress shows. Key skills: Scrupulous attention to detail. Exceptional organisational skills. Trustworthy and accurate as will be dealing with highly confidential material and client information. Skilled communicator. Has the ability to remain calm when under pressure. Has the ability to work at a fast pace, prioritise and meet tight deadlines. Skilled at building solid working relationships across the whole department. A can-do attitude with the willingness and ability to learn. A good listener, intuitive and adaptable. A good sense of humour. Previous industry experience in a talent agency or casting directors’ office desirable but not essential. A passion for and enjoyment of comedy, film, television and theatre is essential.
