The Vacancy
The Workshop Fitter is a grade 5 role focusing primarily on all machining/project operations within the company and requires coordination of works with other departmental shift leaders, sub-contractors, maintenance engineers, and management to ensure timely delivery of quality parts.
This vacancy is intended for the Authentication Division.
Key Responsibilities:
* Take a hands-on approach and lead/assist interventions personally to better support the function.
* Carry out assessments to identify gaps within your team and report to superiors any highlighted room for improvement.
* Ensure all safety and security procedures are followed during activities.
* Ensure that required work permits are available and adhered to accordingly.
* Enable completion of tasks according to predefined plan/communications.
* Sustain effective communication between all customers requiring service.
* Ensure that all required paperwork and handovers for your team are compiled on time and in full.
* Manage team timekeeping and attendance.
* Generate and close safety and security near-miss reports within the business units together with other required tasks.
* Complete engineering tasks/A3s OTIF every time.
* Maintain workplace organization standards - always tour ready.
* Adhere to operational excellence levels achieved within your area of accountability.

Essential Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
* Proven experience with the operation of engineering workshop equipment.
* Proven experience in the repair and fabrication/manufacturing of security printing machine parts.
* Proven experience within a production/manufacturing environment and ability to have a hands-on approach to better assist the shift team.
* Ability to communicate to technical and non-technical audiences.
* Experience with planning, estimating, and reporting works.
