Job summary The post holder is expected to work as part of a team in the Microbiology laboratory. After training they will be required to sterilize, bag and dispose of laboratory waste; an essential element of the functioning of the Microbiology laboratory. In addition, the post holder will complete stock checks for all products in Microbiology on a weekly/fortnightly basis and submit this information via the computer to the administration team who place the orders; put away deliveries and maintain an organized and tidy storeroom. Main duties of the job To maintain an organised and tidy store room. Assist in the management of locally held stocks in accordance with the set stock levels reflecting the suppliers lead times and departmental demand. To follow all standard operating procedures related to this work Loading and unloading the autoclaves with clinical waste Bagging of the clinical waste following autoclaving into the appropriate bags and the correct labelling of the bag.
