Twilight Veterinary Care Assistant - Basildon Pitsea Hospital Vets4Pets
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate Veterinary Care Assistant to join our Veterinary Hospital in Basildon Pitsea.
Our 24 hour hospital is state of the art and purpose built and has recently been expanded to include facilities for MRI, hydrotherapy, orthopaedics & exotic patients in addition to our existing CT scanner, theatres and hospital wards. Our primary focus is to offer excellent clinical care to our patients and a high level support and development for our team. Our clinical team currently consists of 14 vets, 25 nurses and 7 VCAs and is always growing.
You will assist the day and night team colleagues with clinical and non-clinical support to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to provide the best standard of patient care.
Duties include:
1. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness in all clinical areas
2. Answering calls, greeting clients and taking payments
3. Preparing, packaging and sterilising instruments and equipment
4. Walking, feeding and assisting with care of inpatients & surgical patients
5. Assisting with consultations and dispensary processes
6. Processing lab samples for external analysis and running in house tests
About the role
We are looking for a part time colleague working an average of 26.75 hours a week. This consists of 3 weekday shifts of 4pm-12am and 1 out of every 4 weekends - Saturday & Sunday 3pm – 12am. The salary on offer is £11.00 - £11.45 per hour.
