Grade 4 - £33,366 - £40,476 Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity review
Working 36.5 hours per week.
The role is hybrid; however, the post holder would be required to work from Birmingham City Council buildings as business needs dictate.
Are you committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in educational settings? Birmingham City Council is looking for a dedicated Education Safeguarding Coordinator to join our Thriving Children and Families division. In this role, you will provide vital support and guidance to Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL) and senior leaders, ensuring that safeguarding practices are effective and information is shared promptly to protect children. You will represent education at multi-agency meetings and strategy discussions, responding to safeguarding queries and contributing to the decision-making process.
As an Education Safeguarding Coordinator, you will implement systems and processes within the front door to achieve effective safeguarding practices. You will interrogate education systems to provide reports and information, contribute to multi-agency meetings, and support senior officers in auditing referrals. Your role will also involve advising partners on education safeguarding policies and legislation, ensuring that all actions taken are in line with current guidelines and best practices.
We are seeking an individual with experience working with children, young people, and families, particularly within education and safeguarding contexts. You should have a proven track record of making a difference for vulnerable children and be skilled in data analysis and reporting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
