What you’ll be doing:
The Engineering Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3 is a 3 year scheme that will expose you to different areas of support engineering across three world-class programmes, offering real life engineering experience that facilitates your learning and development.
As a Support Engineer, the role will involve developing & applying your understanding of a range of Supportability Engineering Integrated Product Support (IPS) processes, tools, systems and techniques. Applying these to the review and analysis of supplier data against components, equipment’s and systems where you can develop support solutions to both in-service & future RN platforms.
During this 3 year Advanced (Level 3) apprenticeship programme, the main duties undertaken will involve, developing Operating and Maintenance procedures for Submarine systems and equipment, managing the Build Configuration Record of the Boat and aiding in the delivery of the Supporting Technical Documentation for systems and equipment fitted to the platform. You will also provide the associated spares required on-board the Submarine which will be carried on operations and held at Base including the Ashore facilities and Test Equipment in order to conduct maintenance.
This role may include working in areas such as:
– Conduct Design for Support
– Conduct Availability and Reliability analysis
– Conduct Reliability Centred Maintenance.
– Design Support Solutions
– Configuration Management of data and products

The Submarines team:
Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century.
The Astute class will equip the Royal Navy with its largest and most capable generation of attack submarines. We are responsible for the design, build, test and commissioning of these state-of-the-art vessels. In total, seven boats will make up the fleet, each weighing a mighty 7,400 tonnes.
Dreadnought is the successor to the Vanguard class of nuclear deterrent submarines. We will deliver four submarines to the Royal Navy, with the first submarine entering service in the early 2030s. Dreadnought is widely considered to be one of the world’s most complex engineering challenges.
