The Sales Team Manager (STM) is responsible for driving sales and retaining existing customers, day-to-day management, productivity and leadership of team members. The remit includes the achievement of set sales, retention, performance and quality targets, optimising capability and performance, the adherence to company, industry, and regulatory standards. STM's are required to comply with internal and regulatory guidelines to ensure customers receive fair outcomes. A key component of the role is to energise the team to achieve their full potential by providing regular coaching and daily feedback. Given the high emphasis on sales and retention, achievement metrics are key drivers. The STM is required to manage individual performance in a timely and equitable way. The role is about leading others, achieving results, building individual capability and, where necessary, dealing with emerging issues in a timely and effective way. Team managers are responsible for ensuring customers are treated fairly and that they receive good outcomes.
What you'll do:
* Support colleagues in the achievement of sales targets, via direct (up-selling and retention) and indirect (via intermediaries) distribution channels.
* Perform regular coaching sessions to support colleague's personal, technical, and soft-skill development to ensure they have the required level of capability. This also includes the development of more formalised personal development plans.
* Support the management of recruitment, induction, and training of new employees, as appropriate.
* Host regular team meetings/huddles. Lead, motivate and encourage the team to focus on achievement of target and the provision of exceptional service in line with the departmental business plan/targets.
* Network to build mutually beneficial wider stakeholder relationships.
* Demonstrate consistency when dealing with capability and performance management. This includes adherence to performance management procedures and setting improvement plans.
Minimum Requirements:
* Contact centre or telesales experience gained in a regulatory environment.
* Ideally would have previous experience of leading people.
* Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
* Internal applicants should be employed with Bupa for a minimum of 6 months with performance standards and targets met during that period (internal only).
* Positive attitude and self-motivation.
* Strong relationship management skills and ability to build networks of internal and external contacts.
* Able to make important decisions within agreed parameters and day to day decisions without referral.
* Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and ability necessary for this role.
* Thorough product knowledge (internal only).
