More detail about the role As a key member of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will be joining an exceptional Pharmacy team working together to help our patients to stay healthy, when they need it most. As part of your role, you will participate in a range of rotations: Acute medicine Gastroenterology / respiratory Cardiology / care of the elderly Stroke Surgery and orthopaedics You will get to work with a wider multidisciplinary team, including: Medical and surgical teams Specialist nurses Allied health professionals Nutrition team Pain team Hospice Your day-to-day duties will include: Clinical review of inpatients Providing clinical advice to other professionals Discharge facilitation Supporting the dispensary (a small portion of your day) As a Pharmacist at North Devon District Hospital, you will be playing a crucial role in delivering a high-quality Clinical Pharmacy service across a diverse range of wards. The role offers exposure to various specialties, enabling you to develop your core knowledge and skills, as well as the opportunity to be supported in your professional development, whether thats your clinical diploma, or independent prescribing course. We have clearly mapped pathways to broaden your experience and help you progress. Newly Qualified Pharmacists will begin at a Band 6 level which will provide you with a solid foundation in all the essential areas of Hospital Pharmacy. We will support you to gain funding for a clinical diploma and on completion of well-defined developmental gateways, you will progress to a Band 7 pharmacist.
