The opportunity has arisen for a teacher of English within our successful, enthusiastic and talented English department. Highfields is a vibrant and popular school with approximately 1300 students, including 200 in our sixth form. Our students are friendly and highly motivated.

We are looking for an outstanding practitioner for a September start. The successful candidate will be resourceful, inspirational, and forward-thinking. You will share our vision of achieving excellence and raising further the standards of teaching and learning. There is potential for full-time hours if candidates are offering an additional subject.
We wish to appoint a colleague who has:
1. A strong background in English, ideally including experience of teaching to A level. Experience of teaching film studies would be beneficial.
2. A passion for teaching and a track record as a highly effective classroom practitioner.
3. The ability to inspire and motivate students and colleagues to achieve their best.
4. Highly effective interpersonal, communication, management, and leadership skills.
5. A commitment to professional development.
6. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Highfields is situated in Matlock, the county town of Derbyshire, on the south eastern edge of the beautiful Peak District National Park. It is within easy reach of Sheffield, Derby, and Nottingham.
