Organisation Description ReducingSAD - The National Organisation for Reducing Stress, Anxiety and Depression is a Swiss charitable association, containing specialist companies and social enterprises, centred in Switzerland, and operating in England, India, Ireland, Scotland, Switzerland, the United States, and now North Wales; this year it opened its first office in Wales. It is a major researcher and camaigner for preventative mental health medicine for children, adolescents and alults of all ages. Role Description Full or part-time Research Study Facilitator. This is a flexible-hours contract role as a Part or Full-Time Facilitator with companies opoerating as part of ReducingSAD-The National Organisation for Reducing Stress, Anxiety and Depression in its new branch at the Conwy Business Centre in Llandudno Junction. Hours pwr week can be as low as 10, and as many as 30 (not including the main workday meal break) which is considered full-time in Switzerland. The Facilitator will, initially, work with us on a number of projects as we are relatively new to North Wales. The initial project will be helping to organise a programme for teachers (firstly those teaching children up to 12) to reduce their stress, anxiety and depression. The programme is designed to help people involved in a hugely challenging career whilst adding to their insight about children's and adolescents' emotional challenges. Initially, the successful candidate/s will be working with us to make change. We hope that, in the future, our new colleagues will want to take the lead in creating opportunities for improving emotional wellbeing in North Wales. Qualities & Qualifications A passion about fighting for the very best emotional wellbeing for children, teens and adults of all ages. The ability to be comfortable with decision-making within an organisation that believes that everyone sometimes makes the wrong decision, and this is much better than making no decision Experience of how the local education system works, and ideas about how our expertise can dovetail with that of professionals working in Conwy and surrounding areas. Experience in facilitating workshops and events that put forward life-changing ideas to, sometimes, sceptical people. Openness to preventative mental health strategies - ideally a knowledge of mindfulness-based strategies for adults, adolescents and children. Inquisitiveness and affinity to mental health issues and strategies for stress, anxiety, and depression. Empathy, openness and kindness towards individuals experiencing mental health challenges A sense of humour and, at times, of the ridiculous. Campaigning for change can be exhausting and laughter is a strong ally. Remuneration This role is initially offered at an Full-time Equivalent (FTE) of £45,000 - which is aproximately £30.00 per working hour (that £150.00 per day consisting of 6 working hours).
