As part of our growth strategy, we are looking for a Production Planner who will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the production processes. You will be responsible for planning and coordinating production schedules, managing inventory levels and liaising with various departments to ensure the timely delivery of our products. Attention to detail and the ability to identify potential issues will be crucial to enable you to meet deadlines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production scheduling and excellent organisational, communication and problem solving skills. A good understanding of ERP software and lean manufacturing processes are also desirable. Responsibilities Ensure appropriate planning techniques and scheduling systems are in place to meet the needs of the business. Communicate with Project Manager regularly to obtain the necessary technical and delivery information needed to meet our obligations to the customer. Assist with co-ordinating and scheduling all manufacturing jobs from Job Creation to Job Closeout by reviewing contractual delivery dates, resources, work in progress and budgets. Liaise with Engineering and Technical personnel to ensure a clear and concise network of activities and Bill of Material (BOM) for each contract is developed and understood. Analyse, create and release Sales and Manufacturing Orders (SO / MO) for sub-assembly parts dependent on capacity and demand. Assist Procurement with stock shortages and lead time analysis Monitor Min/Max levels for in-house manufactured parts and Sub-Assemblies. Assist with creating and maintaining an efficient and accurate stores inventory program that provides for timely kit marshalling to manufacturing resources Control Sales and Manufacturing Orders to ensure a smooth flow of parts arriving on the shop floor when required, using Lean Thinking processes. Ensure appropriate documentation is released from Planning to other end users of the information such as Workshop supervisors and Team Leaders on a regular and consistent basis. Set up rig forecasts, to ensure both short and long-term parts are delivered in a cost effective and timely manner. Visualize Production Schedule for weekly Production meeting. Assist the Project Manager in setting target dates for each department, to achieve delivery of rigs on time. Incorporate Preventative Maintenance into Production Schedule. Identify potential capacity problems across Supply Chain/Shop Floor and communicate these concerns to appropriate people, in conjunction with Supply Chain Manager. Ensure changes to Bill of Materials (BOMs) are incorporated into Production schedule and monitored. Essential Requirements: Minimum of GCSE (A-C) Maths and English or equivalent or alternatively 3 recent years experience as a production planner/scheduler Minimum 1 year, recent, relevant experience as a production planner/scheduler. Creating schedules within tight quality and efficiency parameters. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages and in particular, Excel. Ability to make timely decisions and work to strict deadline. Excellent planning, organising and prioritising skills. Aptitude for numbers. Be customer focused. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead by example in the company values. Current drivers licence.
