Reception and Revenue Manager, required for a hotel in the Reigate / Redhill, Surrey area. As Reception and Revenue Manager, candidates require experience as a hotel Reception Manager / Front Office Manager to include experience of managing bedroom reservations / group reservations / revenue management (1 year). You will be managing a team within the reception department and the role is responsible for the reception team on day and night shifts. Your role will include being hands on meeting and greeting guests, shift work working on the front desk, working 5 days over 7, therefore including week-ends on a rota. Some duty management will be involved. Some of your weekly work time will be allocated to revenue management. Qualifications required: Proven supervisory experience in a hospitality setting Strong team player Familiarity with hotel operations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Revenue Management: 1 year (required) Overview of the role: Responsibility for the smooth running of the reception department to ensure that a consistently high level of guest services is maintained. To manage the reception team to ensure that the department is fully staffed and the team are correctly trained, motivated and confident at delivering a high standard of customer care coupled with commercial awareness. To ensure telephone handling & taking of bookings are competently handled. To be proactive in upselling from dinner reservations to room types. To maximize room revenue Manage group inventory and pricing strategies Responsible for accurate forecast, trend analysis and sales strategies so that product availability and price are maximised at all times React to any shortfalls against budget and co-ordinate implementation of tactical offers Monitor competitor rates and reacting accordingly To carry out performance reviews for team members setting out clear objectives and identifying training requirements. Rate Management: Oversee the IDeaS Revenue Management System. Manage all reporting and issues regarding the IDeaS system Respond to quotations for all group bedroom requests in a timely manner Manage all RFPs and corporate rates requests / renewals. Produce annual rooms budget Distribution Management: Manage systems – Hotsoft PMS, IDeaS RMS, Siteminder, GDS, Synxis, Lanyon RFP tool, etc Manage contracts with all online agents including Booking com, Expedia Manage sales via the Global Distribution System (GDS) including corporate, partner, agent and negotiated rates Manage own website booking engine Manage distribution of inventory to agents Liaise with reception teams in all properties to ensure bookings are in line with pricing policies and address any system / agent issues Set up flash room sales, e.g. Groupon, Secret Escapes, etc M&E Revenue Management: Track performance and report on the Event Team results Liaise closely with events team to quote residential conference and events business to ensure budget requirements are met for both accommodation and M&E Work with the Event Manager to review and develop the M&E rate card Identify gaps / dips in business and work with the events teams to address Health & Safety: To be aware of hotel security & safety procedures Identify hazards & take appropriate preventative action Follow departmental guideline for fire safety, manage or follow instruction upon alarm activation considering the welfare of staff & guests. Reporting: Weekly accommodation rate report Monthly accommodation period end report Monthly booking channel report Weekly events sales update Quarterly corporate rate report Results summary and analysis for quarterly management meeting Meetings: Monthly events meeting Monthly head of department meeting Quarterly reception update / training Quarterly group management meeting The salary for this opportunity of Reception and Revenue Manager is given as £30,000 - £35,000 / per annum / 40 hour week / plus an incentive-bonus scheme / Company pension and other benefits.
