As a Chef de Partie here at The Devon Hotel, you will be involved in not only delivering our full menu to our guests but also ensuring Weddings and parties receive the best possible quality dining experience.
This role comes with the added possibility of staff transport, available from St Thomas, Alphington, Exwick, Exminster, Countess Weir, Wonford, Digby, and Central Exeter.
What will I be doing?
As a Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for the smooth and hygienic running of our kitchen. Liaising with our senior kitchen team and the hotel's management team will mean no day is the same. From a wedding of 100 to a hotel guest dining alone, you will ensure that the guests' experience with us is memorable while also keeping your work station pristine and nurturing the junior members of the team through the menu. You will also:
1. Be responsible for the ordering of quality fresh and frozen food for daily and specific needs.
2. Ensure the completion of requisitions and keep necessary stocktake records.
3. Ensure deliveries are stored in the correct locations in a timely manner, while being the keeper of keys.
4. Maintain kitchen area and equipment, ensuring your station and utensils are in a hygienic condition at all times.
5. Be prepared to prepare and envision varying menus, as menus may change daily.
6. Deliver a speedy service while ensuring the quality and presentation of food.
7. Consider portion control to minimize waste while preparing dishes.
8. Understand and comply with company policy on HASAWA, HACCP, fire precautions, and legal requirements, and perform any other tasks that may be required from time to time.
9. Establish relationships with attending kitchen staff and other members of staff through the hotel, assisting in the delivery of service to customers.
10. Be prepared to work in other Brend establishments from time to time, expanding your knowledge of varying kitchens and dishes.
