Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic leader to fill the role of CT Lead at The Grange University Hospital.
This post is full time permanent contract based at The Grange University Hospital, Cwmbran, with a requirement to work across other Aneurin Bevan sites as required.
The CT Lead will operationally lead the CT service at The Grange University Hospital and assist colleagues in the operational management of the CT service on other Aneurin Bevan sites. This will involve managing staff and equipment. They will lead the CT service and provide guidance to staff working within it; have an expert knowledge, understanding and interest in CT.
The CT Lead will be required to work with the radiology senior management team and key stakeholders to deliver a high quality CT service. Manage, co-ordinate and when required, participate in the provision of the CT service across Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.
The post holder will be responsible for contributing to compliance with the Welsh Government targets of Referral-to-Treatment Time and Single Cancer Pathway.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
The main duties of this role include:
1. To manage a team to support service development and ensure the provision of a CT service.
2. To manage change within the CT staff as required by service development, enabling good operational management and ensuring targets are met.
3. To comply with performance related monitoring, participating in regular audits and reviews within CT and have the ability to assess the demands on the service and ensure excellent patient care.
4. To provide performance data as required and ensure an effective working level.
5. To provide leadership and support to CT staff.
6. To communicate with and reassure patients including those who may be distressed, uncooperative or have learning difficulties, in order to gain their cooperation.
7. To possess and maintain an expert knowledge of the current CT examinations being carried out and being responsible for all equipment used in these areas.
