The purpose of the role is to develop and implement measurement strategies to produce technical dimensional inspection reports for both internal and external customers. Responsible for ensuring all onsite measurement equipment is regularly inspected and calibrated to ensure capability for production use. Main Responsibilities: - Dimensional inspection of products and tooling. - Producing FAI reports. - Support part engineering teams with drawing interpretation and technical specifications. - Programming automated inspection equipment such as Coordinate Measuring Machines (Renishaw MODUS) and structured light systems such as GOM / Zeiss ATOS equipment. - Applying first principles inspection methods and use of standard measurement equipment. - Using CAD software to interrogate models. - Use of CAD software to design part marking templates and fixturing for part inspection. - Dimensional calibration of measurement equipment. - Liaison with internal customers on a regular basis. - Attending training courses. - Assisting in resolving specification interpretation. Requirements: Essential - Mechanical Engineering / Automation / Metrology Degree or equivalent/Higher National Certificate level in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) will be considered. - A minimum of three years' relevant technical experience within an engineering environment. - Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. - An understanding of technical drawings including GD&T features. - Familiar with aero foil inspection and terminology. - Ability to solve technical problems. - Meticulous with good attention to detail. - Excellent organizational and planning skills. - Ability to write and prepare technical documents. - The ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Strongly developed interpersonal and communication skills. - Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions. - High level of computer literacy (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) - Awareness of Health and Safety - High levels of credibility, integrity and ethical standards. - Good judgment and decision making. - Driven and Pro-Active. - Be actively involved in continuous improvement initiatives and providing input using your expert knowledge. - Adherence to all company policies and procedures, including code of conduct and Health & Safety. Desirable - Previous Metrology experience would be an advantage. - Knowledge of automation systems. - Proficient in CAD (Siemens NX Preferable) - CMM Programming Experience (Renishaw Modus Preferable). - Knowledge of MSA studies / R&R analysis. - Rolls Royce FAI Experience - Non-Contact measurement System Experience (GOM / Zeiss Preferable). - Experience with the setup and use of 3D printers.
