The role:
SENIOR FINANCE ANALYST – IT
To assist and support IT team in performing financial analysis on a variety of contract negotiations and investment projects, acting as a critical member in the decision-making process of the business. The role also requires continuous development of financial results reporting, identifying areas of cost leakages through current processes and procedures.
In addition to this the Senior Finance Analyst will be responsible for building and maintaining the right level of internal controls, playing a key role in the formation of business plans & forecasts, and supporting fundamental profitability analysis.
What you’ll do:
As a Senior Finance Analyst you will play a key role in providing financial insights and support to the IT department. You will work closely with IT leadership team to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models that drive informed decision-making. Your analytical skills will help optimise IT investments and strategy ensuring alignment with the organisation's financial goals.
1. Present complex information in an accessible and meaningful way to focus and drive improvements in financial performance
2. Prepare and track Business Plans, Financial Plans (includes budgeting, planning and forecasting) and local targets using appropriate modelling techniques where required
3. Support with IAG Cargo investment cases, ensuring proposals have all the necessary information and rigger behind them for the business to make an informed decision
4. Control and decision support activities – Identify, influence and implement opportunities for cost reduction and/or revenue improvement through insightful monitoring and analysis of financial performance within each directorate
5. Control and management of project accounting activities, including insight and evaluation of project success, production of business cases which facilitates key investment decisions and robust tracking to ensure project control and delivery
6. Actively build and maintain strong relationships with finance and non-finance colleagues at all levels Across IAG Cargo, BA, Iberia and other group airlines
7. Identify opportunities for process improvements via automation and standardisation and support or manage the implementation of any changes
8. Provide information and support where required to internal and external Auditors
9. Learn to utilise SAP, Anaplan, Tableau and Think Cell tools to produce a consistent and powerful set of reports
10. Adhere to all corporate, statutory and regulatory requirements including Group Standing Instructions, Group Financial Standing Instructions, Financial Reporting Standards and International Accounting Standards
11. Actively build and maintain strong relationships with finance and non-finance colleagues at all levels across IAG Cargo, British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Level, GBS

Your experience:
22. Strong understanding of finance theory and good level of practical finance experience in management accounting
23. Business awareness and commercial acumen developed through the application of finance knowledge and experience
24. Numerate and accurate
25. Strong IT skills in MS Office and preferably experience of finance systems including SAP, Anaplan, Thinkcell, Business Objects
26. Proven track record of effective business partnering of commercial facing roles in fast moving business
27. Experienced in providing business case support, project tracking and delivery of investments/initiative portfolios
