Social Security Scotland is seeking a Monetary Value of Fraud and Error (MVFE) Measurement Fieldwork Team Manager within the Fraud and Error Unit (FERU). The Unit’s mission is to identify, address, and prevent fraud and error, ensuring the integrity of benefit delivery and supporting public trust in our services. As a MVFE Measurement Fieldwork Team Manager, you will be responsible for understanding the level of fraud and error within the benefit caseload, actively seeking out opportunities to identify and correct cases, whilst highlighting suggested controls to facilitate continuous improvement. This activity will facilitate regular report writing with an analysis of risks, threats and potential mitigations to limit the impact of fraud and error. You will support your team in dealing with complex queries and cases, with an emphasis on coaching and developing team capabilities to provide an ever-evolving service. You will collaborate and engage closely with a wide range of stakeholders across Social Security Scotland and wider Scottish Government Programme. You will also be expected to support the MVFE Team Leader in meeting team objectives and deliverables, as well as contributing to the longer-term strategic plan. Responsibilities Responsibilities • Explore and implement opportunities to identify and correct fraud and error, utilising the findings of fieldwork exercises to influence team activity. • Contribute to analysis and production of reports on fraud and error risk, to inform continuous improvement. • Workforce planning, recruitment, induction and training. • Provide guidance and support to staff as required, especially for unusual, high interest or complex cases. • Coach, develop, lead and motivate a team of MVFE Measurement Fieldwork Officers to achieve team objectives. • Ensure that appropriate Management Information is reported to the MVFE Team Leader and the MVFE Lead, to help inform service development and meet reporting requirements. • Work in partnership with the Analysis and Insights Team by providing the data needed for them to calculate and publish the estimates and levels of monetary value of fraud and error within the public domain, which will also be reviewed by Audit Scotland. • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders across Social Security Scotland to ensure all teams impacted by the work conducted by MVFE are sighted on all risks, themes and trends.
