We are looking to appoint an exceptional and inspirational teacher of PE to join our highly successful Sport, Health and Outdoor Education team. This is a very rare and exciting opportunity to join an already high-performing faculty area and to support the vision for excellence being developed by our Director of Sport alongside our Head of PE.
This post has emerged as a result of an exciting new collaboration between Twynham Sixth Form and AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust. We deliver a Post 16 Football Education Programme based at The Grange School and we require a strong teacher of PE to add additional staffing capacity to our team.

Who we are looking for
We would love to hear from you if you:
1. Have a vocational or academic qualification in a relevant subject area at NVQ level 2 or above, together with previous practical experience in an appropriate work area.
2. Are familiar with safe and proper use of any specialist equipment for which the post will be responsible.
3. Would relish the opportunity to work in a forward-thinking and exciting organisation.
4. Passionately believe in the power of education to change lives.
Essential knowledge and skills:
1. An honours degree (or equivalent) in Physical Education or a related discipline.
2. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
3. Experience of improving outcomes for students in Physical Education as a classroom teacher.
4. Successful experience of teaching Physical Education across Key Stage 3-4 in a state 11-16 or 11-18 school.
5. An understanding of effective pedagogy.
6. Excellent classroom management skills.
7. Experience of leading school trips.
8. Experience of delivering extra-curricular activities.
9. Ability to teach a range of sports and physical activities.
10. Ability to travel independently.
Desirable knowledge and skills:
1. First Class Upper second-class degree in a Physical Education or a related discipline.
2. Additional qualifications or accreditation to teach or coach in a sporting environment.
3. Experience of having taught NCFE Sports qualifications at Post 16.
4. Ability to teach an additional subject(s) to Key Stage 3 or further.
5. Ability or desire to teach Health and Social Care.
6. Experience of, and commitment to support, staffing of Duke of Edinburgh Award or similar.
7. Successful teaching experience of A-level in a Physical Education related discipline.
8. Ability to drive and access to own car.
9. License to drive a minibus.
