Our client, a family-style construction-based company, is looking for a permanent Assistant Buyer to join their established team.
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for:
1. Building, maintaining, and managing supplier relationships ensuring good lines of communication.
2. Undertaking supplier negotiations.
3. Placing purchase orders with suppliers and managing them to ensure the goods/services are delivered in a timely manner.
4. Communicating any supplier issues to the operations department.
5. Responsible for the day-to-day management of the various procurement databases.
6. Planning and preparing forward import orders based on forecast depot requirements.
7. Preparing cost analysis reports on procurement process activities to allow the Procurement Manager to make informed choices.
8. Assisting the accounts department in the posting of invoices and taking a lead role in resolving invoice and account discrepancies.
9. Undertaking any other reasonable duties as requested.
Ideally, the successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
1. Ability to work independently as well as part of a close-knit team, demonstrating the ability to build good working relationships.
2. Good analytical skills with excellent planning skills.
3. Strong IT skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
4. Valid UK Driving Licence.
5. Must be able to demonstrate the right to work in the UK.
