IT MANAGER HARROW SALARY UP TO £50,000 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE POSITION SUMMARY The role of the IT Manager is to oversee and manage the implementation and maintenance of information technology systems and infrastructure within the organisation. The primary responsibility is to ensure that the technology systems support the business operations efficiently and effectively. AUTHORITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES Authority to develop and implement long-term technology strategies aligned with the organisation's goals and objectives. This includes proposing technology initiatives, budgeting, and resource allocation for ICT projects. Authority to make decisions related to ICT infrastructure, systems, and software, in consultation with relevant stakeholders. This includes evaluating and recommending new technologies, hardware, and software solutions. Authority to manage the ICT budget, including approving expenditures, negotiating contracts, and optimizing resources. Accountable for providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users, resolving IT issues promptly, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Accountable for evaluating, selecting, and managing vendors, ensuring they deliver services according to agreed-upon contracts and service level agreements. System Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain the ICT infrastructure, including servers, network systems, telecommunications, and data centres. Ensure the availability, security, and reliability of the infrastructure, including disaster recovery plans and data backups. Evaluate and recommend new technologies, hardware, and software solutions to meet the company's requirements. Project Management: Plan and manage ICT projects, including the installation, configuration, and integration of hardware and software systems. IT Support and Helpdesk: Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and network issues. Develop and maintain IT helpdesk procedures and documentation. Train and educate staff on the effective and secure use of technology systems and software applications. Security and Data Protection: Implement and enforce security measures to protect the company's information assets, including data privacy, network security, and access controls. Develop and maintain IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Monitor and respond to security incidents, conducting investigations, and implementing corrective actions as necessary. Vendor and Contract Management: Evaluate and select vendors for hardware, software, and service procurement. Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring service level agreements are met. Monitor vendor performance, conduct regular reviews, and address any issues or escalations. Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and manage the ICT department budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and optimising resources. Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Technology Planning and Strategy: Develop and implement long-term technology strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
