We are seeking a highly motivated person to join our Procurement Team within the Finance Department at the University of Northampton. The successful candidate will provide customer facing finance administrative support to University colleagues in the creation of requisitions for goods and services on the U4BW finance system.
The post holder is expected to provide P2P process compliance guidance and advice to internal colleagues to ensure requisitions are raised on the U4BW finance system in a manner compliant with Procurement guidelines and the University financial regulations. The successful candidate will promote and maintain excellent working relationships with other Procure to Pay (P2P) stakeholders including Academic and other University support colleagues. This post will report directly into the Procurement Manager.

The successful candidate would be expected to work on site 2 to 3 days per week depending on meeting commitments.
We are an accredited Living Wage Foundation Employer and currently pay the real living wage, which is currently £24,309 per annum. In recognition of this, the starting salary for this post has been increased to pay this higher amount which currently supersedes the actual Grade 4 salary before living wage.

The post holder must have excellent communication skills and maintain high levels of integrity, confidentiality and flexibility and be able to liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications
GCSE’s or equivalent in Maths and English at grade C (or equivalent), or above

The Finance & Planning team is responsible for the provision of wide range of financial services across the University, including procurement, budgeting, financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury and cash management, the management of income, accounts payable and credit control services. The Finance and Planning team strive to support the University’s strategic objectives by ensuring financial stability and providing accurate and timely financial information to internal and external stakeholders. The Procurement team are responsible for managing the acquisition of goods and services across the University, supporting its strategic objectives and operational requirements.
