Description Reporting to the Planning Manager, the Warehouse Mapper plays a critical role in maximizing the efficiency and capacity of our Dartford warehouse. This role is responsible for mapping new articles, managing space allocation, and supporting key projects to ensure an optimized, well-organized warehouse environment. By enabling precise data-driven mapping and space management, the Warehouse Optimisation Clerk contributes to operational excellence, supporting smooth workflows and aligning storage solutions with operational needs. As a Warehouse Mapper, you will work closely with the Planning and Capacity team to develop and maintain optimal warehouse layouts and article mapping. This includes capacity and location management, data analysis, and daily reporting on warehouse performance metrics. Flexibility is essential, as this role may require early/late shifts or weekend hours to support high-priority projects. The role is crucial to ensuring that our warehouse remains agile and capable of meeting evolving demands. Duties and Responsibilities Warehouse Layout and Article Mapping Map new articles within the warehouse layout, ensuring efficient use of space and easy access for operations. Capacity and Location Management Oversee capacity allocation and location management to maximize available space and support operational flow. Daily, Weekly, and Ad Hoc Capacity Reporting Generate detailed reports on warehouse capacity, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement. Data Analysis for Optimization Perform data analysis on articles and product range to identify optimal storage solutions and potential space-saving opportunities. Project and Task Prioritisation Assist in managing on-site projects and upgrades, ensuring tasks are prioritized effectively to minimize disruption. Warehouse Management System (WMS) Maintenance Maintain accurate records and configurations within the Warehouse Management System to reflect changes in warehouse mapping and capacity. Health and Safety Compliance Comply with health and safety standards, promoting a safe working environment and encouraging best practices within the team. Experience, Skills, and Attributes: Required: Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems and an understanding of warehouse layout optimization. Strong data analysis skills for producing actionable insights and optimization recommendations. PC skills, including the ability to create spreadsheets, reports, and maintain databases. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively, especially in a time-critical environment. Desired: Knowledge of capacity planning and warehouse storage strategies.
