Rotherham With Me In Mind (Mental Health Support Team) are excited to be one of the national ‘trailblazer’ sites for developing mental health support in schools, with a current strategy to expand and have an additional team as part of Wave 10 funding. This is an exciting time for the team as it continues to develop, implementing ‘New Ways of Working’ and a new service model underpinned by national strategies and initiatives for transforming children and young people’s mental health.
We have exciting band 6 opportunities within our Rotherham team for Senior Mental Health Support Team Practitioners. For the Senior Mental Health Support Team Practitioners post, we are looking for someone who holds a core profession in health or social care such as an RMN, OT or social worker. You must be enthusiastic, kind, compassionate and resilient. We seek practitioners from diverse backgrounds.

The Senior Mental Health Support Team Practitioners role relies heavily on your core profession training to provide specialist support, consultation, advice, and training within schools. To aid better recognition of child and adolescent mental health needs and disorders at an early stage and advise on strategies for intervention. The Senior Practitioner will play a major role in establishing links in education and communicating with key stakeholders within a cluster of schools. They will be responsive to the needs within their local area of work.
Practitioners will work in both educational and health settings within Rotherham to support the implementation of the MHST model. The successful candidates will integrate into our already well-established mental health support teams and compliment the early intervention offer within our local areas.
