STUDENT SUPPORT HUB ASSISTANT
Pay Range: Local Government Pay Scale 3, Points 5-6
Actual Salary from: £17,696 - £17,992

The Role
We are seeking to appoint a Student Support Hub Assistant who will work with our pastoral and SEN teams supporting children who have been identified as needing additional support and guidance. This is an exciting position in the school, working closely with an identified group of students to encourage attendance, involvement and independence in school.
* This post is 32.5 hours per week (Mon to Fri 8:30am – 3:30pm), 39 weeks per year (term time plus non-pupil days).
The Governing Body is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. A disclosure/ status check will be sought from the Disclosure and Barring Service for the successful candidate.
The role will involve:
* Building effective professional relationships with identified students and their families;
* Encouraging students’ attendance to school;
* Working with the pastoral and SEN teams to monitor the progress and wellbeing of identified or vulnerable students;
* Working with individuals or small groups of children in collaboration with teaching staff in classrooms and intervention hubs;
* Proactively supporting students with activities designed to enhance wellbeing, numeracy and literacy where required;
* Promoting positive behaviour, raising esteem and encouraging an aspirational culture;
* Working with identified students to foster their development as independent learners.
* Visits to the homes and families of identified students to support attendance, wellbeing and progress;
* Work with the wider Hub team to provide support where required.
We're looking for you if you have:
* A good standard of education (ideally Maths/English GCSE grade A* to C or equivalent);
* A commitment to high standards of achievement from students and yourself;
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to act on your own initiative.
