On behalf of our client, ITS Building People (Southampton) are searching for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join an award winning residential developer in Bournemouth.
The company specialise in residential schemes from 8-50 units (mixture of houses and apartments) and you will be responsible for managing 2-3 projects of this size simultaneously.
This role would suit someone who is keen to progress and develop their careers with a highly regarded developer who offer a clear career path into managing a team of surveyors through time.
Key Responsibilities -
* Understanding the company's health and safety policy and ensure that it is implemented by all staff under your control.
* Assisting on feasibility studies and writing procurement reports
* Estimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan
* Tendering and procuring, including managing the pre-qualification stage
* Dealing effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes
* Taking personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects and in all cases ensuring that timely and accurate cost checking and valuation takes place
* Producing monthly post contract cost reports and presenting them to the client
* Inputting into value engineering
* Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
* Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages
* Where appropriate, leading a cost management team, ensuring that they deliver on all of the above accountabilities Qualifications Experience and Skills
* A proven track record of delivering high quality cost management/quantity surveying services across the full project lifecycle
The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor on apartment/housing projects
Essential Qualifications/ experience required/ specific requirements for the role:
* Experience working within the Construction Industry as a Quantity Surveyor
* Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor working for a Main Contractor or Residential Developer on housing projects
Training/Progression opportunities:
* Future opportunities to progress into a Senior Quantity Surveyor position
Where a range of rate of pay is quoted the level of experience, qualifications & related training required is the minimum required in order to qualify for the lowest rate of pay quoted.
