Your Impact and Responsibilities As the Distribution Centre General Manager, you will: Lead a diverse team of over 300 members, driving effective communication and engagement. Ensure Health and Safety initiatives are implemented and adhered to, keeping safety at the heart of all operations. Oversee the financial performance of the site, managing costs and achieving budgetary targets. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and service quality. Coach and develop your team, setting clear objectives and conducting regular performance reviews. Coordinate site and production management activities to maintain and improve safety and operational standards. Act as a brand ambassador for Poundland, ensuring our values are reflected in every aspect of the distribution centre's operations. Skills and Knowledge Proven leadership experience in a similar distribution centre management role. People management skills with a track record of driving positive site culture. Extensive knowledge of Transport services and operations, including international logistics. Experience in Inventory and Stock Control management within a high-volume, fast-paced FMCG environment. Proficiency in Reporting & Analytics using MS Office. IOSH qualification (minimum) in Health & Safety systems. An understanding of how technology supports business operations and the ability to drive digital transitions.
