Our client is recruiting for a Transport Coordinator at their brand new site in Halewood on the night shift to provide execution of the Transport Plan and despatch of deliveries and collections within a fast-paced environment.
Salary: £27,000 per annum plus 20% shift allowance
Monday to Friday with optional overtime at weekends
Shift: 10pm to 6am

You will co-ordinate and prepare delivery and collection of freight information, ensuring all documentation is processed and completed on time and accurately whilst providing excellent customer service support. Understanding operational restrictions including management of transportation of sequenced stock and liaising with customers to ensure the best possible service.
General Accountabilities:
1. Provision of excellent customer service
2. Co-ordination of collection and delivery of goods
3. Preparation of transport and customer documents - ensure compliance with standard operating procedure
4. Adhere to all company health and safety policies and standards of housekeeping
5. Inputting despatch information into GTS
6. Pro-actively escalates any potential service issue to both immediate management and to the customer
7. Load building finished goods stock to amend planning schedule where required
8. Creation of orders through to documentation, liaising with warehouse personnel to ensure despatch
9. Ensure flexibility within the department to cover colleagues' tasks during times of holidays & absence
10. Investigate routings for the Transport Plan for new/amended customers/destinations
11. Liaising with MLS and other UK Freight departments and locations
12. Liaising with the operation to ensure stock is despatched correctly
13. Dealing with customer requests to ensure service levels are surpassed
14. Ensuring all administration is up to date and accurate
15. Adhere to the company values
16. Undertake any other reasonable tasks as detailed by the Management Team
Local Accountabilities:
1. Customs requirements and procedures as dictated by the customer
2. Domestic transportation of goods
3. Understand the implications of operating within a time-sensitive environment
4. Awareness of O'Licence compliance, WTD and drivers' hours legislation
5. Systems requirements including GTS
6. Operational documentation, compliance with escalation process
7. Quality standards as per the Quality Policy
8. Quality standards as per customer requirements
Resources:
Circa 20 LGV1 Drivers covering the shift operation along with 3 status administrators
Skills/Experience required for the role:
1. Proven experience within the logistics industry
2. Proven experience within a customer-facing role
3. Computer literate
4. Communication skills - verbal & written
5. Ability to follow work procedures
6. WTD and drivers' hours regulations
