Role summary
Reporting to the Group Head of Facility Services, the Facility Services Manager supports the Group Head of Facility Services in managing the day to day running of the Facility Services Department, comprising circa 50 employees across the Maintenance and Engineering teams at Pinewood and Shepperton Studios.
Working in a dynamic team in an exciting environment, the Facility Services Manager is the first point of contact for the Facility Services Supervisors. The Facility Services Supervisors are responsible for ensuring that Maintenance and Engineering works are carried out as efficiently as possible and to the highest standards across the Group. They are expected to prepare sufficiently in all respects in order to represent the Group professionally, appropriately and responsibly.
Principle accountabilities
* Assist the Group Facility Services Manager in the safe, efficient and effective operation and maintenance of all hard services across the Group.
* Assist in the repair and maintenance of all buildings, roadways, common areas and perimeters of the Group’s facilities to ensure facilities meet health and safety requirements and comply with legislation.
* Management of the PPM regime, along with all required reactive and remedial works, to ensure all allocated work is suitably completed and signed off.
* Ensure that all works completed by the Maintenance, Electrical and Engineering teams are carried out to be compliant with all legal and health and safety obligations.
* Maintenance and engineering works cost procurement, analysis, appraisal and recommendation.
* Assist the Group Head of Facility Services Manager in the annual budget process.
* Manage a portfolio of approved contractors to that meet Company requirements, and ensure that a high level of service is delivered at all times.
* Manage and lead change as required to ensure minimum disruption to core activities. Monitor and demonstrate achievement of agreed service levels and lead on improvement as required.
* Manage the delivery of facility and infrastructure improvement projects within the approved budget and programme. Ensure programmes are agreed between all key project stakeholders and that key deadlines are met. Maintain regular communication with other internal departments regarding potential business impacts and mitigation options.
* Assist in the management of the Facility Services Supervisors, including all Health & Safety and Human Resource matters. Advise and manage all departmental issues and assist in ensuring the department is aligned with the company’s strategy.
* Engagement with and management of specialist contractors and consultants as required.
* Ensure all tools and plant are maintained and tested.
* Any other duties deemed appropriate by Management.
Nature and Scope
* This great opportunity would suit an emerging Facility Services manager with a good technical knowledge base, combined with excellent organisational and people management skills. A solid track record of practical experience in Facility Management or similar is also essential.
* The job holder is required to take full accountability for the delivery of planned, reactive and remedial works of the teams within their remit.
* The job challenge is to deliver the maintenance of hard services within an ever changing, varied environment, to strict budgets and timescales.
* Management of communication with internal and external stakeholders is key to this role.
Skills and experience
Essential criteria
* Relevant qualifications relating to trades and systems which fall under their responsibility.
* Previous facilities management / building services engineering experience.
* Sound working knowledge of trades and systems which fall under their responsibility, including:
* General building / construction trades
* Building fabric maintenance, repair and refurbishment;
* Mechanical systems maintenance, repair, remedials, refurbishment and certification;
* M&E refurbishment projects; and
* HV & LV maintenance.
* Robust understanding of CDM and relevant legislation, regulations and standards.
* Highly organised and commercially aware.
* Excellent communication skills and customer service focused.
* Capable of working to strict targets and timescales with an ability to set deadlines.
* Ability to find practical solutions, think creatively and overcome obstacles.
* Self-motivated and effective time manager.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Desire and ability to engage in continued professional development.
* Flexible, outgoing, friendly personality with a positive attitude for a ‘can do’ culture.
* Able to commute reliably to the office bases, based at Shepperton but able to commute to Pinewood as required. Able to work flexible hours should this be required.
Desirable criteria
* Degree-level education in a technical discipline (facilities management, engineering / building services engineering preferred).
* Industrial or commercial industry experience and knowledge of sector.

* Role location: Shepperton Studios with occasional travel to Pinewood Studios subject to requirements.
