As the Head of Buying & Merchandising, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future success of their luxury offerings. You will be responsible for leading and managing a talented team, overseeing the buying and merchandising strategy, and ensuring the continued profitability and success of their operations across retail and online.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, and mentor a high-performing buying and merchandising team, ensuring a collaborative, results-driven environment.
Build and nurture strong relationships with key brand partners and suppliers to enhance product offerings and negotiate optimal terms.
Develop and drive strategy to achieve margin targets, working closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Maintain accountability for stock management, ensuring optimal stock levels, fast stock turn, and minimisation of aged stock.
Develop and manage sales and stock planning to optimise profitability across all product categories.
Oversee the creation of detailed reports, providing insights on sales performance, margin analysis, and stock performance.
Drive margin growth by analysing market trends, competitor activity, and consumer demand, adjusting the assortment and buying strategies accordingly.
Lead the process for seasonal buys and product launches, ensuring the selection aligns with brand positioning, customer demand, and market trends.Key Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in a senior buying and merchandising role, ideally within the premium or luxury retail sectors.
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a team.
Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills with suppliers, brands, and internal stakeholders.
Strong understanding of stock management, sales planning, and margin optimisation.
Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyse complex reports and take action based on insights.
A passion for luxury brands, trends, and an understanding of high-end customer expectations.
