Highway and Transport Services – Enhancing Lives, Building Communities
Join our team as a Highways Development Management Technician and help shape the future of transport and planning within our community.
In this role, you'll work closely with Councillors, planning applicants and the public, providing expert advice and guidance on highway and transport issues. You'll be part of a team evaluating planning applications, preparing reports and negotiating solutions that balance development needs with effective transport management.
Your work will involve site visits, producing estimates and assisting in the preparation of legal agreements and traffic regulation orders. You’ll also support senior colleagues in monitoring obligations under agreements, representing the council at meetings and inquiries, and offering professional advice on a range of transport and planning matters.
To thrive in this role, you'll need at least two years of relevant experience, strong communication skills, a high level of numeracy and proficiency with computers. A minimum of two A-levels or equivalent qualifications is essential, ideally in subjects relevant to the role.
