About Us:
As the GRAHAM business continues to grow and develop, we are looking for enthusiastic and experienced MEP Project Manager to work on key projects that we have in the Glasgow area.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual who will develop good working relationships with both the trade contractors’ staff and their building colleagues involved with the project.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic MEP Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and execution of MEP systems for our projects. This role requires a strong understanding of MEP systems, excellent project management skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
The MEP Project Manager shall:
1. Responsible for H&S for the MEP works and associated MEP Sub-contractors.
2. Ensuring the completion of daily/weekly paperwork associated with H&S and progress reporting.
3. Managing site MEP supervisors and ensuring they are fulfilling their role.
4. Co-ordinating with the construction Project manager and project planner to ensure that the project schedule is sequenced correctly and updated on a regular basis.
5. Co-ordinating with other construction managers or project managers to ensure that works are progressing on schedule and in sequence.
6. Reviewing progress reports from each MEP Sub-Contractor to track the status of each task.
7. Working with our Building Services Managers regarding technical issues arising on the projects.
8. Carrying out progress reporting on the MEP installations for feeding into the main client progress reports.
9. Monitoring MEP Sub-contractors’ resource and material availability for scheduled upcoming works.
10. Scheduling meetings with MEP Sub-contractors, clients, or other stakeholders to discuss project objectives and requirements.
11. Managing a team of MEP supervisors, MEP Sub-contractors, suppliers, and other parties involved in the project.
12. Working with the commercial team to monitor MEP payment applications throughout the project to ensure that claims accurately reflect works complete and due.
This job description is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged for the MEP Project Manager and the range of duties to be undertaken. It does not attempt to detail every activity. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder at regular intervals.
Technical Competencies
Essential
1. Candidate should come from either a Mechanical or Electrical Services background in the industrial and commercial installations sector.
2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Mechanical or Electrical Construction/Project Manager with project experience upwards of £5 million M&E.
3. HNC/HND qualifications in either Mechanical/Electrical/Building Services or Construction Management.
Desirable
1. Hands on experience from a trade contractor background.
