About the Role: We are excited to present a brand new opportunity for a Maintenance/Continuous Improvement (CI) Lead to join our client's team in Newport, Shropshire. This permanent role offers the chance to make a significant impact on our client's maintenance approach through the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), a comprehensive system focused on maintaining and improving the integrity of production and quality systems.
As the Maintenance Excellence and CI Lead, you will play a crucial role in delivering cost-effective asset care and implementing maintenance excellence. Reporting directly to the Site Engineering Manager, you will work as part of the Engineering team to ensure all equipment is kept in top working condition to avoid breakdowns and delays in manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Implement key engineering processes in line with the client's Engineering Road Map.
2. Develop and execute cost-effective maintenance programs to meet safety, quality, and performance demands.
3. Plan, improve, and execute maintenance of site equipment to enhance reliability.
4. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs, CMMS systems, and maintenance best practices (SPIDEX/Mainsaver).
5. Drive talent development within the department, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
6. Analyze failures and lost production to identify and implement solutions for improved systems and processes.
7. Lead proactive maintenance, production excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.
8. Promote a 'top loss' analysis culture and facilitate criticality matrix reviews.
9. Drive implementation of the Inventory Management Plan and development of SOPs.
10. Utilize root cause analysis/problem-solving techniques (RCA, 5Y, DMAIC) to address issues.
11. Support the implementation of smart factory software and reliability improvements.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Experience working with contractors, suppliers, and technical staff to troubleshoot and eliminate root causes of nonconformities.
2. Strong planning, prioritization, and communication skills.
3. Expertise in TPM, Mainsaver PM, and Office 365.
4. Effective problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
5. Significant experience in leading and developing a team.
6. Knowledge of quality standards and the effects of incidents on quality.
7. Enthusiastic and passionate about continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
8. Recognized engineering apprenticeship, ONC/HNC, degree, or equivalent in mechanical or electrical disciplines.
9. Experience in a maintenance environment with a strong ability to make logical decisions.
10. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
