Our client is the principal contractor delivering a £25million highway scheme in Plymouth, currently at pre-construction with delivery due to commence in July, you will be commercially responsible for this project throughout its 2.5-year programme. This is a great opportunity to join a company with a 9-year pipeline of work in the local area, all on a single-source framework.
As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will:
* Be accountable for the profitability of projects and will develop appropriate commercial strategies to ensure delivery of required margins.
* Manage and maintain the contract cost reporting system ensuring all financial information is managed and up-to-date and tracked with budget/tender allowances, commitments and deviations highlighted and managed.
* Produce and provide accurate forecasts of project cost to completion and final value.
* Continually monitor projected costs to completion in line with budgets.
* Monitor cash flow and valuation plan, ensuring applications are made correctly and in a timely manner.
* Ensure contract variations are identified, valued and turned into agreed variation orders with the customer in a timely manner.
* Ensure records are maintained to support claims and that applications for payment for variations are issued in a timely manner.
* Manage the subcontract tender process, including the selection of sub-contractors and provision of all relevant contract and schedule documentation.
Our client requires a Senior Quantity Surveyor with:
* Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying (or similar)
* Experience of working for a tier one Civil Engineering contractor.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Experience of commercially managing projects from pre-construction to final accounts.
* A good knowledge of NEC form of contracts.
Salary and benefits include:
* £60,000 - £65,000 per annum
* Benefits package including company car or car allowance
* Hybrid working (1-2 days per week)
* 42 hour working week
* 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
