Are you passionate about crafting seamless and user-focused digital experiences? We’re looking for a UX/UI Designer to lead the design of the digital user experience and interface for the Arriva Customer Engine (ACE) – our multi-platform retail solution used across several Arriva businesses.
This key role focuses on delivering simple, efficient, and user-centric digital journeys that meet the high standards expected from our retail platform. You’ll be a core part of the IT & Digital Team, working closely with ACE Product Manager to bring exceptional customer experiences to life.
This individual needs to have the right to work in the UK.
What you will be doing:
1. Lead the creative direction for the Arriva Customer Engine (ACE), setting the tone for outstanding digital design that’s simple, smart, and user focused.
2. Own the end-to-end design process — whether it’s a quick improvement or a big strategic project, you’ll ensure every touchpoint feels seamless and intuitive.
3. Collaborate with passionate teammates in product and development to turn ideas into beautifully crafted, user-friendly digital experiences.
4. Work hand-in-hand with our digital partners, bringing your designs to life across mobile, desktop, and app platforms.
5. Use real customer insights and feedback to back up your ideas — from research to usability testing, your designs will be driven by what users truly need.
6. Map out user journeys and identify pain points, making sure every design decision makes things smoother, easier, and more enjoyable for our customers.
7. Champion accessibility, ensuring all our digital experiences are inclusive and meet high standards for everyone.
8. Bring your ideas to the table — and present them confidently to stakeholders with compelling mock-ups and clear storytelling.
9. Stay one step ahead, keeping an eye on industry trends and making sure our digital experiences stay fresh, relevant, and competitive.
10. Be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking product team, where continuous improvement, creativity, and innovation are part of everyday life.
What you will need:
1. This individual will need to have had at least four years of commercial experience working as a User Experience designer or experience working in a similar role, with demonstrative experience of working on complex desktop, mobile and app applications.
2. Strong experience of conducting usability testing, both remotely and in-person is essential for this role.
3. You will need to have a high attention to detail in designing and presenting work, as well as the ability to multitask, think analytically and problem solve.
4. The UX/UI Designer will need to have strong communication and organisational skills and will need to take responsibility for their own work and standards.
5. Any knowledge or background in public transportation markets would be highly advantageous.
