Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to support the transportation and delivery of our products across the region. This role will start as a temporary position for 3 weeks, after which successful candidates will transition into a permanent, full-time position. You will play an essential role in ensuring timely and efficient deliveries to our customers, while maintaining a high standard of safety and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate a Class 2 HGV vehicle to transport products to various customer sites.
Ensure timely and accurate deliveries of architectural coatings and related products.
Complete daily vehicle checks and ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
Maintain high standards of health and safety in line with company policies and road safety regulations.
Communicate effectively with the logistics team to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Assist with the loading and unloading of products where required, ensuring safe handling of materials.
Represent the company in a professional manner when interacting with customers.
Complete delivery paperwork, including delivery notes and vehicle inspection reports.
Maintain a clean and tidy vehicle.
Requirements:
Valid HGV Class 2 driving license with no more than 6 penalty points.
Driver CPC qualification (Certificate of Professional Competence).
Strong knowledge of road safety regulations.
Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
Previous experience in driving HGV vehicles, preferably within a delivery or logistics role.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good physical condition and ability to assist with loading and unloading.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high safety standards.
Willingness to work flexible hours if needed.
Desirable:
Experience with delivering coatings or similar products.
Knowledge of the local area and regional routes.
