Job description
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
1. Design of tooling or equipment utilising Siemens NX software.
2. Presentation of solutions at interim and design reviews.
3. Production (or management of the production) of all Technical Product specifications in support of the design (drawings, specifications, process flows, MI's etc).
4. Manage the modification of existing tooling and equipment as required in accordance with MFG 1168 including the preparation and maintenance of CAN's.
5. Produce and maintain Design History Files utilising Siemens Teamcenter.
6. Assist in the procurement of tooling and equipment.
7. Assist in the commission the tool or equipment by means of Verification and Validation.
8. Act as Technical Authority by taking ownership of the design during the life and disposal of the tool or equipment.
9. Responsible for requirements capture and management to meet customer expectations.
10. Stakeholder management.
11. Optioneering: Idea creation, analysis & down selection of proposed candidate solutions.
12. Planning, coordination and execution of physical experiments, tests & trials.
13. Solution analysis using "Engineering Virtual Reality".
14. To ensure responsibilities are understood and applied with regards to the Company's Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards.
15. To safeguard Company information and assets from unauthorised access or disclosure, reporting security breaches and applying security at all times.
Qualifications
16. Engineering Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, with an Engineering Apprenticeship or recognised formal training in mechanical engineering
17. Have or working towards a professional membership
18. Advanced working knowledge of CAD techniques, preferably Siemens NX software
19. Advanced knowledge of Manufacturing Techniques and Processes
20. Advanced knowledge of Production Definition (Drawing) standards
21. UK Health and Safety Legislation
22. Quality Standards and Procedures
23. Configuration Management
24. Advanced Knowledge of the Product lifecycle Management of data (PLM)
Technical Skills & Experience
25. Proven Product design experience preferably in a production support area including the generation modification of design documentation packages including supporting calculations and reports
26. Practical experience of machine tools, production activities and processes
27. Good interpersonal skills and an ability to interact at all levels
28. Advanced skills in the use of a variety of Computer Software packages including 3D CAD Systems, Preferably Siemens NX / Siemens Teamcenter software
29. Application of the product design standards
30. Competent in the writing of Technical Reports and presenting of technical information.
31. Nationality: British
32. Security Clearance: DV(A) level
33. To be fit and able to work on a nuclear licensed site
34. Full UK driving license with own transport
35. A determination to succeed and a high degree of flexibility are essential
