We are currently in an exciting stage of our transformation journey, in modernising our Infrastructure and Architectural working principles. As our Enterprise Infrastructure Architect, you will be responsible for shaping our strategic Infrastructure approach in this context and play a key role in ensuring our architectural processes and structures strive for excellence.
Managing a small team of Solution Architects, this role will review, develop and assist with designing and implementing technical solutions for Business as Usual (BAU) and Line of Business (LoB) systems and services, within Cloud and on-premises provisions.
Shaping the delivery of Enterprise-Class, scalable, and secure solutions that are within agreed strategic and organisational objectives, this role will work with vendors and wider stakeholders to ensure the BHF delivers fit for purpose solutions with a focus on infrastructure. In addition, this role will manage the governance of Infrastructure design and implementation across all change initiatives, including programmes, projects and products.
Key responsibilities
Analyse, review and document existing current-state architecture (baseline) into BHFs architecture toolset (Ardoq), identifying opportunities to consolidate and help shape the future vision of the Enterprise Infrastructure
Develops and maintains infrastructure architecture artifacts (e.g., models, templates, standards and design patterns) for infrastructure capabilities (e.g. Hosting, networking end user computing) that can be used by projects and operations to implement compliant infrastructure capabilities
Evolve the BHFs technology into to a modern Zero Trust Cloud architecture in collaboration with the Information Security Team
Will play a key role in the BHF Security Architecture Review Board (SARB), Design and Governance Authority for end-to-end implementation for Infrastructure systems, application services and solutions
Align with the Technology Strategy and Roadmaps to ensure goals, measurable and critical success factors are delivered accordingly
Act in a consultancy capacity to all Business units, Stakeholders, Project and Programme Managers
Highlight, own and/or escalate potential risks and issues formally in a constructive manner to the appropriate channels
Provide leadership and support to the Technology Directorate Portfolios and the wider BHF organisation to find solutions to achieve better integration between systems. Ensuring solutions are easy to monitor and maintain, cost effective and meet agreed technical standards
Maintain an up-to-date informed knowledge of technical developments within the industry through peer-exchanges, symposiums, events or otherwise
Perform line management duties to guide the effective career journeys of architects within the team, aligned to BHFs values, policies and guidelines.

Experience
Experienced in developing and implementing comprehensive technology roadmaps for enterprise-level infrastructure and solutions, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and organisational goals
Proficient in utilising and implementing architecture frameworks and tooling at an enterprise architecture level
Knowledge of design and review processes and operations (eg. Architectural reviews)
Significant experience of designing, developing and supporting complex technology solutions
Strong experience in managing and working with virtual teams and 3rd parties
Experience working with functional and technical specifications and requirements to create solutions designs or enhancements
Experience in providing internal consultancy to support departments, colleagues and projects
Experience working within both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
Strong systems analysis, design, testing and deployment skills and experience
Large website and retail experience
Skills & attributes
Strong analysis and explorative ability working with 3rd parties and vendors.
Ability to work with staff at all levels, including senior management/leadership.
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, able to liaise and work with non-technical people in a clear manner.
Communication skills translating complex infrastructure-related matters into business terms that are readily understood by colleagues.
Experienced in working with workflow management tools, such as Jira, Confluence & Microsoft DevOps
Full-stack knowledge of Azure and On Prem IT infrastructure
Self-motivated and a self-starter.
Disciplined and precise approach to strategic problem solving.

Knowledge, training & qualifications
Degree qualified in a technology, computing or related discipline, or significant relevant industry experience
Subject Matter Expert in core technology e.g.Azure/IaaS, VMWare, Cisco, Networking, Microsoft Entra, M365, InTune, MS Security Suite, Telephony systems etc, both on-prem and Cloud
Knowledge in architecture tooling set (Ardoq desired)

CISSP Certified Information System Security Professional
